RRAW: Critique

Artist: Hannah Hoch
Title: Cut with the Kitchen Knife
Year: 1919
Media: Collage of pasted papers

Hannah Hoch was an artist apart of the Dada movement of the early 20 century after World War One, where a group of artists got together and began to creak art works that questioned the limits of art and humanity which may have been about the horrors of the war.

In this image everything is glue on each other in layers creating a collage effect to the art piece. Majority of the ripped piece are random pieces of papers from newspaper articles to photographs, also how the many of the paper pieces were in different tones of tones.

I kinda like the messy way the pieces have been stuck on, it's not perfectly placed, but rather in a stuck all over composition, it's like the artist was giving her views on politics.
