RRAW: Description of Picture

My thoughts on this image came across as a imaginative land, where everyones true colours are shown whether they are all one colour of multiple, kinda like religion or cultural beliefs, for instant you don't always exactly have one culture.

My other thought on this image was something based on a magical wonderland, mainly because of how a few of the people are some how morphed into a part human part creature like mystical being. It kinda reminds me of some kind of parallel universe where humans and creatures can interact with each other. there were quite a few things that had taken my attention, one was the arrangement and placement of each person, majority of them were sitting down but in different positions between them selves, each one of them with no emotion shown across there faces, making the scene more mysterious.

Image week 3

Stencil Art

Artist: Reko Rennie
Title: Message Stick (Silver)
Year: 2010
Media: Hand pressed metallic textile foil and acrylic on belgian linen
Size: 140 X 140 cm

My thought of this piece was how the colour brought the spray can out, but also how this pattern is important to the artist. The spray can shows us his passion for spray paint and the pattern represents his culture which is aboriginal Australian. I think the main part of this Image that caught my attention was the use of colours, and also how the artist made his work based on his culture.

Image week 2

Image Building

Artist: Victoria Topping
Title: When We On
Year: 2011

In this image the layers are placed over each other, I think the top layer as screen printing just by a first glance mainly because one of the images are duplicated the only difference is they are more faded out, but if you have a closer look at the image there is a little bit of detail added to them.

Artist: Anthony Goicolea
Title: Multiple Versions of the Self

In this photograph the thing that interested me was each student was in fact the same person, just in different poses. Using photoshop the artist has placed the boy each photograph different in different positions of the stairway.

Artist: Aziz and Cucher
Title: Dystopia
Year: 1994

To be honest this photograph kinda freaked me out, but I liked how the artists managed to get rid of the eyes and mouth, and using the blending tool on photoshop to blend it together to make the face seem as if it was originally like that.

Self Portrait Research

Artist: Ernst Haas
Title: Rodeo
Date: 1957
Media: Fuji Crystal or Dye Transfer
Size: 11 x 14

In this photograph I've noticed it in colour, this helps show the colours blurred from the movement. The main reason for the photograph being blurry is because the camera was on a low shutter speed, the lower the shutter speed the more blurry the photo is.

HI!!!!!!!!!!
I'm Kayla, I'm eighteen years old and I live In New Zealand! And I'm an Artist, I'm mainly interested in film and photography. Music is also an interest for me as well which is why I am fascinated with music videos or photographs of concerts or something similar to that... I could go on about my favourite bands and genre of music but to be honest it would take forever... To be quiet frank I like art because it's my own way to express my thoughts and emotions.
